GENGA:
This village is situated among the forrests
on the mountain peaks in the area around
"Valle dell'Esino". The village is still
sourrounded by the walls of the middleage
castel. This is the place where Pope Leone
XII was born, but Genga is first of all
famous because of "Grotte di Frasassi" (The
Frasassi Caves) which can be found close
to the village. Here the entrance is open
all year. |

SASSOFERRATO:
This village is situated in the
middel of the beautifull and savage mountains,
where the houses are rustic and small. The
village consists of a lower, modern part,
and a medieval center on the top of a mountain.
This is the ideal place for excursions and
walks in the old center. |

USSITA:
Mountain council in the heart of the Sibillini
mountains. The village is situated in a
beautifull valley below Mount Bove. The
biggest village in this council is Pieve.
Here you will find a church from the 13th
century. In winter the place is a popular
skiing center, but people go there all year
round, also because of the winter sports
palace with its lovely ice rink. |

VISSO:
is situated close to the Unbrian border,
in a valley near Nera, where 5 small valleys
meet. The village is considered the heart
of the Sibillini mountains. Thanks to its
alternating green hills and forrests, the
place is a wonderfull holiday center for
making excursions in the Sibillini mountains.
Apart from this, the middleage castel, situated
in the old village, is worth a visit. |

MONTEMONACO: Montemonaco is situated
on the top of a mountain projection along
the crossroad axis between Tenna and Aso.
From Montemonaco you can enjoy the amazing
view over the Sibillini mountains, from
Vettore to Sibilla. The landscape is a typical
high mountain one, with peaks that are snow
covered almost all year round. It is from
this village that excursions to The Pilato
Lake start. |

MONTEFORTINO:
This village is situated on a hill, opposite
Monte Priora, between deep mountain incisions.
The place has been populated since ancient
times, and is still marked by the Roman
period. From here you can go on very interesting
excirsions, to for instance Santuario della
Madonna dell'Ambro or Infernaccio. |

AMANDOLA:
because of the important role thos village
played in the passed, its named "The Queen
og the Sibillini mountains". Its history
is like the one of Montefortino:populated
since ancient times, still Roman traces.
The village is interesting, both because
of its historical center, where you will
find artistic testimonies, but also because
it is the place from which excursions to
Monte di Amandola and Campolungo (a mountain
retreat) have their starting point |
